A new project of the Horizon Europe program, ST(R)E(A)M IT, has been launched to initiate changes in gender inequality in STEM education, research and innovation. The project aims to overcome gender inequality in STEM education, research and innovation to contribute to the implementation of the European Manifesto for Gender Inclusive STE(A)M Education and Careers.
The project's goal is to empower underrepresented groups in STEM, promote gender-inclusive career pathways, and support STEM education providers through knowledge sharing and capacity building to address gender barriers in STEM.
The kick-off meeting took place on February 29 and March 1, 2024 in Budapest, at the ADAPTÉR Creative Technology Knowledge Center. The meeting brought together 21 partner organizations from 19 countries (Hungary, Ireland, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, North Macedonia, Sweden, Belgium, Greece, Poland and Iceland), including the Association of Business Women of Serbia. The meeting focused on the initial activities and necessary steps to achieve the goals.

ST(R)E(A)M IT is a European project funded by the HORIZON WIDERA program, which will last for 3 years, until December 2026.
ST(R)E(A)M IT catalyzes change in gender inequality in STEM education, research and innovation. A special emphasis is placed on encouraging girls' participation in STEM education and careers, as well as supporting the removal of institutional barriers to gender equality and inclusion.
